Words to share.
Faith expressed in song.

Bring Scripture and song into your next gathering. Choose a hymn to accompany the passage you’re reading, then make time to sing, talk about its words, and pray together.

Choose from Heritage Hymns

Heritage Hymns brings together 180 of Pat’s original hymn lyrics, paired with classic melodies. Its Scripture, meter, and tune indexes help you choose a hymn for your reading or find words to sing to a melody your congregation knows.

Bring one hymn to your gathering.

Choose a hymn and try its suggested tune before you meet. Read it aloud, sing it together, or discuss a stanza before prayer. For a taste of Pat’s writing, read “I Believe” and “Great Are the Mysteries of God” in the book sample. If a melody is unfamiliar, look it up by its tune name.

Let the words be heard

Read the hymn aloud before singing. Give everyone a moment to notice how its words relate to the Scripture passage.

Make room for conversation

Ask which phrase stayed with each person and why. Return to those words as you pray together.
